Now, when I talk to God I know you’ll understand
April 9th 2008 by E..
As expected, Sunday’s trip to the National Holocaust Memorial Museum was heavy…even having been there before, there are things that are just so much more powerful when seen in person than simply read about in a textbook…even with many of my classmates being in attendance, it was good to have Mr. Larry there as a personal companion…there were many things that he pointed out (such as names of villages where my great-grandparents lived etched in glass) that I would not have known about otherwise…it was rather odd to see how other groups were behaving…some were just moving right through the museum without really taking anything in…some people even had small children in the main exhibit who were way too young to be seeing some of the things on display there…while I recommend going to the museum to anyone, I would advise that they be prepared for a heartbreaking experience…
Day 236 - April 6th, 2008
As if to even out the balance of my emotions, Monday was an incredibly fun day (and night)…it started off with my getting a 45 out of 45 on my Radio project (the old-timey commercial, to be precise)…then I bumped into John Vettese on the train down to XPN…I had a nice little Y-Rock shift and gave away tickets so some band called Radio-something…Monday at XPN was (un)officially Carbon/Silicon Day…the guys were performing downstairs at World Cafe Live that night, and were around the building all day doing interviews, recording radio takeovers, posing for pictures and the like…
The performance was nothing short of incredible…first off, Mick Jones sounds as good as ever, as does Tony James…the level of musicianship on that stage was astounding, and best of all, they were smiling during the whole show…you can tell a great band by how much fun they’re having on stage during their own concert…what’s great was that two punk rock icons were thanking us for coming out to the show…such gentlemen!
Day 237 - April 7th, 2008
Since the show was so much fun, I’ll give you a bonus picture (in fact, most would probably expect this to be my picture for the day) of
