Total Trash
While we were preparing to go to Boston for eBay Live! this year, I was trying to think back to last year, but all I could remember was being in Vegas…yeah, I recalled some things here and there about the convention, but the whole Vegas thing sort of engulfed all of that right up…
My lack of memory of eBay Live! from last year was all but dissolved when I saw how comparatively lame this year’s event was…whereas last year, the three days felt like a celebration, not just of eBay but of Vegas in general, this year featured little to no theme, and came off as just another trade show…not being an eBay member myself, I was mostly bored with what little ‘entertainment’ was to be offered…regardless, Mom, Dad and I got more than our fair shares of free stuff, which is always worth noting…
Spending about as much time in the hotel shuttle going back and forth to the convention center as we spent in our hotel room, we actually saw very little of Boston…I had been there before, and it is quite a pretty city, if not reminiscient of Philadelphia…the whole mix of modern architecture and colonial-ness was a bit too familiar to be novel…we did, however visit historic Fenway Park, which is in need of repair/replacement, though is a great place to see a ballgame…I’m still trying to figure out how anyone can hit anything over that wall…
On our last day, we went to Salem and to their Witch Museum, which was delightfully campy…for Disneyland geeks, let me point out that the presentation about the history of the witch trials was equal parts Primeval World diorama and Primeval World diorama…I think you get the idea…
Now that I’m back, I’m finding how much hotter it is here than it was in Boston…by the time the Red Sox game started on Wednesday night, it was 55
