Hello, future? Yeah, save me a seat…

I think it’s official right about…now!…all done with high school work as I will ever know it…I know, I know…I still have the AP Stat Exam In May, but that is actually a CollegeBoard thing, not an Akiba thing, so there! Today’s final was more than just not hard, it was pretty very not hard!…either I am really good at Stat, or I got everything wrong…most likely, a combination of the two will show up on my report card… Today, at around 3:00 in the PM, Alana Shaw (yes, that Alana Shaw) and I walked over to the new Cosi at the Yorktown…Now, I have never been into one of these establishments, though I have seen them before and had a general idea of what the fare would be like there (rather, I had a general idea of what the price of the fare would be)…I got a spinach and artichoke dip appetizer and a small peach smoothie…final cost?…$10.21… let me reiterate that…ONE (1) APPETIZER-SIZED SPINACH AND ARTICHOKE DIP PLATTER AND ONE (1) SMALL (as in NOT VERY BIG) PEACH SMOOTHIE (as in ICE AND FLAVORING)…$10.21… Now, Alana is trying to get a job there, so I was on my best behavior for her benefit…after all, if you are the manager of a place and a prospect’s friend comes in and complains about, well, just about everything, you might want to reconsider your prospect…I mean, if this is the kind of person she likes to hang out with, imagine what she’s really like…but, I did not say anything to the guy serving me, since he was really not to blame, and I did not say anything to the manager, since wasn’t to blame either…I did, however, say something to Alana, without whom, I probably could have and would have gone much longer (as in ENTIRE LIFE) without setting foot into a single Cosi (and not felt the least bit bad about it, mind you) Now, I wasn’t mad at her, since she likes this place, and that’s fine…getting mad at her for her taste in eateries would be like getting mad at someone for their taste in music…it makes no sense: taste is taste…I told her this: If I were there with someone else, or with her and she were not trying to secure a job there, I might have let the guy at the counter have it…then I took that back…I wouldn’t say anything to the guy at the counter, since I probably wouldn’t even make it that far past the giant menu in the doorway…One look at the so-so food choices and through-the-roof prices and I would have headed for Walgreens for s good old-fashioned candy bar and chips meal, maybe even with a lovely soft beverage…anything but a $10.21 dip and smoothie!…Cosi, consider yourself on my list… Well, tomorrow Adam and I are going to Medeski Martin and Wood, and then it’s to the store for me…Saturday, I’m going to be ushing an Arlo Guthrie concert, which should be neat, even though I’m not allowed to bring my Fez…damn codes of usher-wear… E.
